Old Bridge, NJ @ some community center, w/???random locals???

Today was fucked! Thanks to ridiculous traffic in New York City and mapquest directions that completely fucked us (steve note: 1st of many mapquest follies, a website source that is now pretty damn reliable), we were basically stuck on a highway forever! I think we spent literally 10 hours in the fucking van. Boston to New Jersey shouldn't take that long! So, we were 6 hours late for a Sunday matinee show, a show that seemed to be one of the more solid ones we booked. This girl Sue put on the show. I had spoken to her a few times on the phone before we left Ottawa and she said we could stay with her and I even told her to book off work to hang out the next day, as we had a day off. She did.

Well, turns out Sue is like a 45 year old woman with kids, one of which we think may be playing in one of the bands. We're pretty sure she's christian too, cause the last band who were finishing up their set, were a christian metal/hardcore mosh it up band , and it's not like she looks like a punk, she looks like a mom (steve note: the venue may have been some weird christian church too). We were too late to play, we didn't do anything nice and we got $75 bones US, making it our best paying show of tour so far!

happy to get some not so well earned green. lord have mercy!

We all really wanted to get the fuck out of Old Bridge, despite Sue's generosity and her booking off work to hang with us. It was all really weird though and as shitty as it may have been to do, we said 'thanks so much for the gas money and everything...we're gonna go find a hotel somewhere'. So we basically drove to our destination to pickup money (steve note: that'll happen again...). Once we split we stopped at a grocery store and were hit with a sudden explosion of energy. We were reborn! Food makes us happy, so things were looking up.

We stayed at the Friendship Motor Inn, in Delaware somewhere and watched Misery on TV. Tomorrow off to DC for our first actual day off, of 2.
